Moses Onlus was founded in March 2005. It is a voluntary non-profit association that works to the implementation of solidarity actions, in emergency or post-emergence situations, to improve living conditions of displaced people living in poverty, marginalization, abuses and violation of human rights. The areas of intervention are primarily focused on education, health and recovery of fundamental human rights, especially for women, children and vulnerable groups. Moses is directly involved in systematic training activities aimed at enhancing awareness and mutual help in the South East Asia region (Thailand and Myanmar).  A participative approach, on site monitoring and strong personal relationships between local and Italian staff contribute to achieve real effectiveness in the operational field. The association activity is based on on-site voluntary work of members to support and monitor interventions in the target areas. The direct involvement of the community and  decision sharing are  the common basis of all interventions and one of the values of 'Moses' operations, jointly with the training of teachers and local staff, building capacity in planning, management and reporting of the activities performed. Particular attention is given to vocational training for women and constant updating of teachers who are part of crucial projects of Moses.. Moses ONLUS has been awarded the Prize for peace Dossetti 2010 for the project schools in the Jungle.

Because of the expertise developed in SE Asia  Moses Onlus is now operating as associate partner of the University of Trento   and other 6 European Universities in the framework of the Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window  project  called Bridging the Gap.
This EU funded project involving  more than  18 academic partners in Europe and Asia aims at promoting a sustainable development  and cooperation between  Europe and the Southern and Eastern areas of Asia - involving 7 different Asian  countries  Thailand and Myanmar included.  Moses Onlus also participated as associate member  to the project proposal One More Step, a follow up of  Bridging the gap , submitted under the scheme of Erasmus Mundus Action 2 programme.
