Moses Onlus is a non-profit (non-governmental) organization established by Francesco Baietti and Patrizia Saccaggi. Francesco and Patrizia were vacationing in southern Thailand when Andaman Sea Tsunami had struck the southern coast and killed more than 8,000 people in December 2004. After miraculously surviving the tsunami, Francesco and Patrizia established Moses Onlus on 10 March, 2005 in Italy.
The main goal of Moses Onlus is to support education and children’s rights for marginalized communities that are forgotten or ignored. Currently, Moses Onlus operates two schools and one learning center. Also, it supports a variety of women and children’s activities such as a children’s course for traditional Thai dance (manorah), religious studies for Burmese, Thai, and moken (sea gypsy) children, and healthcare for women, children, and adults. In Italy Moses Onlus has the main office in Madonna di Campiglio, Trentino and has two branch offices in Castel Maggiore, Bologna and Sirmione, Brescia. Moses also has international offices in Khuk Khak in Phang Nga Province and Mae Sariang Mae Hong Son, Thailand.
