In 2005 and 2006 it has done the interventions of reconstruction in post-emergency caused by the Tsunami of 26 December 2004 rebuilding a village for survivors in Ban Nan Khem in the Province of Phang Nga and providing home and work in the Province of Surin for a Thai migrant community affected by the Tsunami in Khao Lak. Since 2006 the commitment of Moses is activated toward the problem of Burmese people, both the IDP camp located in territory along the Burmese border, and the refugee camps controlled by UNHCR, and the one of Migrants fled to Thailand. CURRENT PROJECTS The commitment of Moses Onlus in IDP Camp in Burmese Territory operates in the organization and support of education with a school and a hostel in the Jungle for 180 children (forty of which are orphans) as well as in financial projects of independent food production through the creation of animal farms. Projects for Migrants are addressed to the Community of displaced persons in Burma in the Thai province of Phang Nga made up of 60,000 people living without dignity, exploited at work and in total lack of Human Rights."Knowledge for supporting coexistence" is the name of the ‘initiative in umbrella’ in aid of Migrants, which provides participation in various activities of the Thai Community, helping the coexistence between the two communities. The fulcrum of the project is the House of Peace. The project in particular: Supporting the access of children to education at Learning Center with a program of education, nutrition, prevention and health care. Allowing the inclusion of 50 Burmese children in Thai schools supporting integration into Thai society. Organizing and supporting a health program, both prevention (AIDS, Malaria, preparation for childbirth, etc.) and the cure realized directly in the housing settlements of the Migrants, at the Learning Center.In the House of Peace a medical clinic and a pharmacy are in operation. Several activities are held: training for work; teaching of the Thai and English languages to adults; meetings about religion; meetings supplying information about human rights; organization of sports activities involving the two communities. The program is consistent with the Millennium Goals enunciated by the UN. Aid for Burmese people affected by Cyclone Nargis Activities to support and assist the people affected by the cyclone Nargis are ongoing in eight districts of the Burmese Province in Rangoon and Irrawaddy. These activities are accomplished through the purchase of local goods and their subsequent distribution carried out by groups of volunteers of a Democratic organization close to the Nobel Prize Aung San Suu Kyi. Beneficiaries are 2800 families living in 30 villages. Moses Onlus NPO has also launched a program of protection for orphans or abandoned children which have reached the number of 10,000 through support to be provided to monasteries.
