Bahn Nam Khem Bahn Nam Khem is a village located in the area of Khao Lak, where the tsunami of 26 December 2004 has made more victims, and where the material damage were the most important of all Thailand. At Ban Nam Khem, Moses Onlus has made the first project for the tsunami survivors, in collaboration with the Danish Embassy, which buyed the land, with CODI, a Government Institute, which has managed the post-emergency building and reconstruction, and Chumchonthai, a Thailand NGO that that managed several projects for the reconstruction and with which Moses Onlus has agreed and signed a proper contract for construction of 12 housing of about 70 square meters each.
The contract between Moses & Chumchonthai Foundation Onlus, was signed in Surat Thani, in the presence of Bishop Prathan Sridarunsil that, with demonstrated competence has managed the coordination of the aid of Caritas International, during and after the tsunami emergency. The procedures were followed by the members of Moses, from the laying of the "sign" of the yard, which took place in July 2005, to continue in December of that year and January and April 2006 with the assistance, tracking and enforcement of walls, that ended with the inauguration on 27 July 2006. |
