Providing food and education for 350 Children.
Funding for a complete, and daily diet for children, all sons of Burmese Migrant workers within 4 Learning Center, in the region of Phang Nga (Thailand). The project, in collaboration with Iscos Cisl-Onlus, consists in the provision of "complete meals" a day to 350 students. Provides support to 4 Learning Center (informal schools) triggered with a local non-profit Organization (Grassroots Human Rights Education "GHRE") , in the province of Phang Nga from July 2005. The Children, who attend the classes of the Learning Center, are taught with courses of Burmese, Thai and English language (with the help of native speakers, teachers and foreigner volunteers), history and mathematics. Children also are monitored by a doctor who takes care of them, check the health of the school population in general and develop health programs and prevention. The relationship with GHRE is based on a contract that provides a reimbursement of THB 30 per child, attending the Learning Center, enjoying the meals and medical care. The quality of food and children's attendance is monitored weekly by Anders Kjollerstrom, a Swedish volunteer in collaboration with Moses Onlus. |
