[vc_row][vc_column][vc_tta_tabs alignment=”center” active_section=”1″ css_animation=”fadeInDown”][vc_tta_section title=”About us” tab_id=”about-us”][vc_column_text]The story of Moses<\/strong> started on December 26, 2004, when a 9.3 magnitude quake generated a series of tsunami in the Indian Ocean and on the shores of the Asian coasts, that killed at least 230 thousand people. Burma and Thailand were among the affected areas. Four Italians who were there at that time miraculously survived that tragic event. On March 10, 2005, they decided to found Moses. The statutory purpose of Moses is to realize solidarity projects based on international cooperation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the very start, Moses worked on the reconstruction of one of most affected areas; during its progress, the actions focused mainly on the Burmese population, that still today continues to live one of the most dramatic and scarcely known humanitarian emergencies in the world.<\/p>\n

The main areas of focus are education, healthcare, protecting children, and protection of the most helpless communities <\/strong>in the Sagaing division, in the Kayin State, people in the IDS (Internally Displaced People<\/em>) camps, along the Thai border, in the Rakhine State, and in support of the Burmese migrants displaced on the Thai territory.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”How do we work” tab_id=”how-do-we-work”][vc_column_text]Moses is mainly based on the voluntary contribution of its members, who work directly on the ground to identify the actual needs<\/strong> and select reliable partners<\/strong>. They share the initiatives with the involved communities<\/strong>, and organize, control, and manage the activities. The main objective of this approach is to favor the participation of the recipients in managing the initiatives<\/strong>, and consequently their self-support.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The volunteers do not receive any salary and pay the travel, living, and lodging cost from their own pocket. This way, the funds collected are 100% devoted to the projects<\/strong>.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Mission – Vision” tab_id=”mission”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Our mission is to sustain those populations that are in threat of ethnic cleansing and live in extreme poverty. We do that via the development of micro-economic projects<\/strong>, and a long term projects<\/strong> based on the increase of the education level, and of the hygienic conditions.<\/p>\n
